Nani’s Sandwich Shop is open

From an email:

This week Nani’s opened for business. My Wife and I enjoyed breakfast there. The breakfast sandwiches are very good and the cafe con leches is one of the best I have had. They are open from 7am-5pm and have daily lunch specials that start at 11am. Today’s special is Chicken fricassee white rice / platanos madoros. Specials start at 11 am. All for $6.00. Here are picks of their menu.

  1. Had breakfast there this morning. Wasn’t bad. It’s a very clean place, friendly staff. They had four 4 seater booths and 2 two tops. Prices were very reasonable. I’d go back. I would agree with the emailer that the cafe con leche was really good.

  2. I won’t go there because of the way they painted their building. Nobody asked me what I thought before they painted and now I don’t like it. I also won’t go to Ella’s because they never remember my name when I go in there and they never make a big deal over me. Scratch the Refinery too because I couldn’t pronounce something on the menu and it made me feel like it wasn’t made especially for me. Also, the people that run Smokin’ A’s never consulted me on what hours they should open for business and since I don’t agree with the hours that they keep, I will never go there again. Hopefully someone gets it right around here someday.

  3. Oh, Gee #2 – You make me feel so guilty for being a resident of Seminole Heights. Kinda like I shouldn’t say anything if I haven’t got anything good to say. Right thumper?. Spare me the “Bitter Pill” drama.

  4. #2 Which comedy club are you playing at next?

  5. #4 – Pub-N-Grub on N. Nebraska Ave. – B-There!!

  6. #2 you poor thing – should we call your nanny for you!!

  7. Although #2 is just trolling (which it seems the readers here are too dense to realize) the post does make the point that no matter what someone does in the area, someone on this blog will be here to whine and bitch about it.

  8. #2 is upset that no one will change his/her diaper while dining out? Perhaps the posting nomenclature, “#2″ is apt?

  9. #7 – “Just Trolling” got that. Your reference to our obtusity; insulting. As for the conclusion: I think you might be surprised how many of us dullards “got that” too . We’re all so lucky to have you bring this into perspective for all the dead heads here in Seminole Heights.

  10. #2- Why not add You will never write on this blog again to your quit list, you bore me.

  11. Please stay open for dinner. We don’t need another breakfast place.

  12. Nani’s is a lovely little place! They did a wonderful job making it into a restaurant. It’s very clean and everyone has a smile on their face! We tried a few things, the breakfast cuban sandwiches were great and so was the cafe con leche. Very economical too! Keep up the good work and support our newest food establishment here in Seminole Heights!!

  13. Hello fellow neighbors! I’m hooked on Nani’s…not only are they super clean and friendly, these folks are truly hard working people. I love the Media Noche’s (Midnight Sandwich) sorta like the Cuban Sandwich. As for those of you that remember the Seabreeze Restaurant on the Causeway and their awesome devil crabs…well they have the same recipe. Nani’s cook used to work at the Seabreeze and the owner Pilar was a waitress for Seabreeze for years. Not to going to say that they are the best devil crabs in town because I don’t want a debate, but to me they are pretty darn good!

Let’s welcome Nani’s to the neighborhood!

  14. I agree! Their deviled crab is pretty tasty — and that I don’t have to drive very far to get one makes it even sweeter! The media noche is really good. I tried both that and the cuban, and gotta say i really like their media noche bread (egg bread). It’s the best.

  15. Welcome to the neighborhood Nani’s!!! I am a business owner in the area for many years. I pick up lunch there several days a week. So far everything I have eaten from there is very good, and the devil crabs are delicious. A very family friendly establishment. By the way #2 Nani’s is way too classy and clean for you. We don’t wan’t any negativity in our neighborhood.

  16. After all the good publicity given to Nanis, I went there today for lunch. My sandwich and devil crab was delicious. The service was awesome.. The waitress and staff are very professional, friendly and polite. I give Nanis a 10, and I will be there again soon…And by the way, very clean.

  17. The best pork sandwich I have ever had. So glad they are finally opened. Give Nani’s a try, I guarantee you will like it. I agree with #16 100%.
